TAMPA, Fla.–Suncoast Credit Union has welcomed its one-millionth checking account member.
To mark the milestone, the credit union held a celebration at its West Osceola Service Center, where Suncoast executives honored Yofre Flores Gonzalez, a new business owner, with a special recognition ceremony.
During the event, Gonzalez, who recently opened both a business and personal checking account at the West Osceola Service Center, was surprised with a $1,500 check from Suncoast, the credit union said.
“This contribution will support Yofre’s journey in launching his food truck business,” Suncoast CU stated.
In addition to the check, Yofre was presented with a gift basket full of Suncoast swag and a commemorative plaque.
‘A Real Difference’
“Suncoast Credit Union is making a real difference in my life,” said Gonzalez in a statement. “Since opening my accounts here, I am getting my personal finances in order and finally pursuing my dream of starting my own business. I wasn’t ready for this honor as the one-millionth checking account member, but it makes me feel like my dream is falling into place, and that’s what I have always wanted.”
The $18.4-billion Suncoast CU noted that over the past decade it has doubled its membership to more than 1.2 million members.
