TAMPA, Fla.–Suncoast Credit Union is joining with the National Federation of CDCUs to host a roundtable discussion here titled, “Financial Inclusion for Immigrant Consumers.”
The effort is part of a national campaign to expose un-banked and under-banked immigrants in the U.S. to credit union products and services. The roundtable is free to attend and open to the public and will be held at Suncoast’s headquarters here.
Suncoast CU noted that of the 10 million un-banked households in the U.S., nearly 20% are foreign-born, non-citizen households.
During the roundtable, speakers from credit unions and community organizations who are successfully serving immigrant populations will speak on strategy and the need for cooperation with government entities. The meeting here is the fourth roundtable in the series, with previous discussions having been held in New York City, Los Angeles and Dallas.
