BIRMINGHAM, Ala.–A suspect in the robbery of a branch of America’s First Credit Union here turned himself in after his mother saw his picture on TV.
WBRC reported that the unidentified man, in his 20s and who was armed with a handgun, presented a note to teller demanding money. The suspect removed a black, cloth bag from beneath the reflective vest he was wearing in which the money was placed. He then fled the scene through a church parking lot, where he got into a car with two other men. His picture was then broadcast on TV during a report of the robbery, which is where his mother saw it.
The other two suspects remain at large.
