Texas DPS CU Names Monique Quarrells President, CEO

AUSTIN, Texas—The $100-million Texas DPS Credit Union has named Monique Quarrells president and CEO.

Quarrells has been with the organization for six years, most recently serving as executive vice president, chief operations officer and interim president and CEO.

Quarrells brings more than 26 years of credit union industry experience to the role, with the board citing her leadership, operational expertise and focus on member service as key factors in the decision. She holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership and has been closely involved in the credit union’s operational and strategic initiatives.

“Mrs. Quarrells has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, strategic vision, and a deep commitment to our members and employees,” Board Chair David Outon said in a statement. “The Board is fully confident in her ability to lead the credit union forward while maintaining a strong financial and regulatory position and continuing to deliver the outstanding service our members expect and deserve.”

Texas DPS Credit Union said Quarrells has played a central role in improving operations, enhancing products and services and supporting the institution’s long-term growth. In a statement, Quarrells said the credit union plans to continue investing in digital banking, financial education and member convenience across Texas while maintaining a “people-first” approach focused on members and employees.
