Tinker FCU Picks Up The Tab At the Pump For Oklahoma Drivers

OKLAHOMA CITY—With gas prices pinching household budgets, Tinker Federal Credit Union employees showed up at two QuikTrip locations here with a simple message: this tank is on us.

In a pop-up giveaway highlighted by News9, the credit union’s employee-led “It’s On Us” program handed out $25 gas cards to drivers in Oklahoma City and Moore, offering a small assist as fuel costs continue to squeeze families.

News9 reported Tinker FCU employees distributed the cards with no membership requirement, framing the effort as a way to support fellow Oklahomans, local communities and small business owners.

“We wanted to do a give back, with no strings attached. You don’t have to be a member,” Breely Christian of Tinker Federal told News9.

According to News9, teams quickly handed out 60 cards at each site. Christian told News9 the goal was not to solve rising gas prices, but to offer an unexpected boost to everyday people who had no idea the giveaway was coming.

News9 said the gas-card event is part of a broader pattern for Tinker FCU, which regularly stages similar “It’s On Us” pop-up community givebacks and typically promotes upcoming events through its social media channels.
