To Mark Milestone, LAFCU Says ‘We’re Totally 80’

LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles Federal Credit Union is marking its 80th anniversary with a 1980s theme, as well as a “colossal” birthday bash and prize giveaways all year long.

Founded by several Los Angeles City employees on March 20, 1936, LAFCU has grown its asset size from $65 to over $838 million, and its membership grew from 13 to over 55,000 today. Membership is open to everyone in the Greater Los Angeles area.

LAFCU is celebrating with its “We’re Totally 80” theme and a revised logo with bright, fluorescent colors and artwork. A big birthday bash will be held in all eight branches on Friday, May 20, where members and the public can drop by anytime between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to enjoy refreshments and giveaways.

“To reward members even more for making LAFCU L.A.’s first choice in financial services, LAFCU is holding totally cool raffles on our Facebook page every few weeks,” the credit union said. “An iPad 32 GB, an Atari Flashback video game console, and a pair of Beats by Dre headphones, have already been given away.”
