Two CUs Name New CEOs

MERRILLVILLE, Ind.— Nicole Smith has been selected to lead $200-million U S Federal Credit Union here, the CU announced.

Smith succeeds Michelle Wilson who retires in January after serving the organization as president/CEO of for over 36 years.

Smith has more than 20 years of experience in financial services, most recently serving as the executive vice president for $365-million Pasadena Federal Credit Union. Prior to her role at Pasadena FCU, Smith was senior vice president at First Bank.

“While we are sad to see Michelle leave our organization and greatly appreciate all she has done for the credit union, we believe the future is bright with Nicole at the helm, and we are excited to see what the future holds for U S Federal Credit Union and our members,” said Board Chair Robert Sarich.

“I am deeply honored to step into the role of president and CEO of U S Federal Credit Union,” Smioth said. “It is a privilege to serve this remarkable organization, our dedicated members, and the communities that make us who we are.”

Engler To Head South Metro

In Prior Lake, Min., the $178-million South Metro Federal Credit Union has named Kent Engler president and CEO, the CU reported.

Engler brings over 20 years of leadership experience in the financial services industry to his new position, with expertise in credit unions and community banking, the CU said.

“He has a strong track record of driving growth, enhancing member satisfaction, and improving operational efficiency through strategic initiatives and team development. A dedicated advocate for community engagement, Kent has partnered with organizations to promote financial literacy and support underserved communities,” the CU said.

"I am truly honored to be selected by the board and excited to join South Metro Federal Credit Union as its next president and CEO,” Engler said. “South Metro has a rich legacy of serving its members and community with care and dedication.
