U.S. New Mexico Says Name Change Is Coming

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.—U.S. New Mexico FCU is teasing its members and community that a name change will be unveiled on March 2.

In an article in its newsletter, the credit union said that a makeover will be unveiled that will feature new colors and branding that “will describe who we are, elevate our image, and help us appeal to current and future members.”

U.S. New Mexico also has a teaser graphic, “We have more to show you,” currently running on its website. The credit union also uses “The Eagle” and “We are the Eagle” in much of its current branding. Local media reported that the CU’s signage at some locations is currently covered in temporary banners.

A name change for U.S. New Mexico FCU would be the second for a credit union in this market in a relatively short time. New Mexico Educators FCU has changed its name to Nusenda, which led to some criticism and even jokes in local media about why the change was made, as well as the new name itself.
