United Nations FCU Finds Ideal Location For New Branch

NEW YORK–United Nations FCU has opened a new branch in an appropriate venue: the United Nations headquarters here.

The credit union said it has opened a new, 4,564-square-foot facility in the lower level of the Visitors’ Center inside the UN General Assembly Building following the complex’s extensive refurbishment.

The UNFCU General Assembly location is a full-service branch and also houses conference space for seminars and has three external ATMs. UNFCU’s new branch complements its existing location at 2 UN Plaza and represents an expansion of services to UN staff after a near six-year hiatus while the UN buildings underwent an extensive renovation, UNFCU said.

“We are thrilled to expand the in-person services we can provide to our members right where they work with the opening of our centrally located branch,” said William Predmore, president/CEO of UNFCU.  “We thank the United Nations for its support in helping us open the branch in time for the General Debate of the 70th Session of the UN General Assembly. With so many of our members visiting from around the world, this presents a unique opportunity for us to offer personalized service in a convenient location.”

The $4.2-billion UNFCU serves more than 30,000 members located in New York, Connecticut and New Jersey. With its new branch, the innovative financial cooperative will also serve representatives of the UN’s permanent missions to New York, consultants and members of the United Nations Association of the United States of America.

For the new General Assembly branch, UNFCU said it follows Global Reporting Initiative and United Nations HVAC (heat, ventilating and air conditioning) guidelines in keeping with its board-mandated social responsibility programs and award-winning green headquarters in Long Island City, New York.
