HAWTHORNE, Calif.—The $2-billion Western Federal Credit Union has paid a bonus distribution of $3 million to its members, an initiative it is calling “$Three Million Thanks.”
Distributions to eligible members ranged from $5 to $42, based on account activity between January 1 and December 31, 2014, the credit union said.
"As a financial cooperative, the membership as a whole benefits by the collective participation of all members—borrowers helping savers, and savers helping borrowers," said Lisa Otomo, VP of marketing, in a statement." Based on the tremendous cooperative activity by Western members in 2014, our board of directors decided to distribute $3 million as a special thank-you."
