…While 39 More Complete CUES Governance Leadership Institute

MADISON, Wis.—Thirty-nine credit union board members and executives have completed the CUES Governance Leadership Institute.

All have earned the distinguished Certified Credit Union Director (CCD) designation, bringing the number of credit union directors who have their CCD to 153.

The graduate-level program is taught by the faculty at the Joseph L. Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. According to CUES, students leave the Institute knowing how to balance healthy debate and diversity with consensus building. Key issues of study include strategy in the boardroom, risk management, negotiations, duty and liability, influencing change, succession planning, and communications.

“My experience at CUES Governance Leadership Institute far exceeded my expectations. The content was rigorous, the instruction was highly interactive, and the networking among colleagues combined for a superior learning opportunity,” said attendee David Ostash, CCD, board chair, AltaOne Federal Credit Union in Ridgecrest, Calif., in a statement. “The faculty and staff at Rotman are professionally and personally invested in this very successful partnership with CUES.”
