Winner Between Trojans & Fighting Irish Football Teams? Charity

LOS ANGELES—A football-related challenge between two university sponsored credit unions is back for a third year.

Competing in the $10,000 Charity Challenge are USC Credit Union, which serves the University of Southern California, and Notre Dame FCU. The two schools’ football teams will meet on Oct. 17. USCCU and Notre Dame FCU are now competing to see which can generate the most credit card applications between Sept. 14 and Oct. 16.

Each credit union has wagered $5,000 on the contest, with the winner taking all and donating $10,000 to the charity of their choice. USC Credit Union has won the challenge for the past two years.

For the second year, USC Credit Union has chosen USC Good Neighbors as their charity. The Good Neighbors Campaign provides financial support to university-community partnerships between USC faculty and staff and local nonprofit organizations that have a visible, positive impact on the neighborhoods surrounding the University Park and Health Sciences campuses.

Notre Dame FCU’s charity of choice is the Kelly Cares Foundation, a breast cancer awareness organization co-founded by University of Notre Dame Head Football Coach Brian Kelly and his wife, Paqui, who is a breast cancer survivor.
