EL PASO, Texas–The National Credit Union Foundation’s Development Education (DE) program will host an in-person workshop in this city on the U.S./Mexico border from Oct. 11-14, with a focus on service to immigrant populations.
The event is set for Oct. 11-14.
According to Chad Helmniak, chief impact officer with the Foundation, attendees will be involved in a number of activities, including visiting the border area and exploring issues faced by those who are new to the United States. There will also be a visit to Annunciation House, a volunteer-led organization that uses a cooperative model to support migrant, refugee and economically vulnerable people who have crossed the board.
Helmniak stressed the workshop is not limited to just those with the development education designation and is open to everyone.
GECU in El Paso is hosting the event.
