MADISON, Wis.–The World Council of Credit Unions has introduced what it is calling an extended virtual learning opportunity format, WOCCU Workshops.
The first workshop is scheduled for Sept. 30 and will focus on “Board Governance: Navigating Roles and Responsibilities with Management.”
The workshop will begin at 2 p.m. ET.
“This course will provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the distinct yet collaborative roles of the board and management at the board table,” WOCCU said. “Effective governance is crucial for the success and sustainability of any credit union, and a clear delineation of responsibilities between the board and management is essential.”
What Will be Learned
According to WOCCU, participants will:
- Understand the board’s responsibilities and be able to identify the distinct roles of board vs. management.
- Examine the intersections of the board and management’s role.
- Understand the importance of effective communication between the board and management.
- Learn from other participants how they manage roles and responsibilities at their respective credit unions.
This session is facilitated by Miranda V. Flury, president of Hawkeye Strategies.
The cost for WOCCU members is $200 per person; $500 for non-WOCCU members.
