CUPERTINO, Calif.–Some credit unions have been reporting their members are being targeted in a new e-mail that purports to be coming from Apple Support.
The e-mail is a phishing scam in which the sender threatens to suspend the consumer’s account because they did not earlier respond to a “verification” e-mail, and urges the recipient to click on a “Verify Now” button. That button links to a fake Apple page that seeks to have the consumer provide a password, credit card and other personal information.
