TAMPA, Fla. –GTE Financial Credit Union is introducing its 2015 “Got Game” competition and offering a $10,000 prize to the winner.
The Got Game competition challenges developers to create an application for Android and/or iOS platforms. GTE Financial also ran the Got Game competition in 2014. The competition is part of a broader mission by GTE Financial to actively engage more members in improving their financial literacy skills. To that end, the credit union has turned to “gamification.”
“Last year’s winning app is now available in the Apple and Android Play store, and this is another great opportunity for both new and veteran gaming developers to have fun and take their ideas to market,” said Joe Brancucci, president and CEO of GTE Financial.
Submitted mobile apps must be completely original and never before published, fully developed and functioning, and be a product suitable for GTE Financial branding and ownership. Apps may be either entertaining or pragmatic in function. Submission guidelines and official rules are available at www.gtefinancial.org/game and contestants are urged to read them carefully before submitting their entry.
Submissions must be received by Nov. 6, 2015, with GTE Financial saying the entries will be judged on creativity, ease of use, brand alignment, market differentiation, sustainability, user benefit, entertainment value, user adoption and monetization potential.
Finalists will be asked to present their apps to a panel of GTE judges on Dec. 11, 2015, in Tampa, and the grand prize winner will be announced Dec. 18.
In addition to the $10,000 prize, the winner will also be paid any residual earnings once the app has been released to the public.
