HENDERSON, Nev.–A great deal has changed in terms of expectations of work and being in the office, according to one credit union CEO.
Bill Cheney, president/CEO at SchoolsFirst FCU in Santa Ana, Calif., shared his insights and forecast during an interview with Susan Mitchell, CEO of Mitchell, Stankovic & Associates and founder of the Underground. “Even with our branch traffic at the same levels pre-pandemic, we will have to be more flexible. We will need to be the change,” said Cheney.
Other “Ideas into Action” pillars shared during the interview by Cheney include:
- Listen to the Member. “Members will tell you what they need, and you need, to survive. Open channels. Create advisory board groups. Understand your full membership.”
- Be the Change. The world is disrupted. Be the change rather than leading through the change. "There’s never been a better time to be a credit union," Cheney said.
