LOVELAND, Ohio/Colo.–If you didn’t know better, you’d think credit unions are in the romance business, often talking about their love for their members, love for the mission, and love of the jobs they do in improving lives. That’s why this Valentine’s Day CUToday.info is highlighting all those credit unions that have an extra reason to be sending a Hallmark card in 2023.
We begin with credit unions past and present that include Love Gospel Assembly CU, Love Memorial, Loves Bakery, and for the younger at heart or just those reminiscing, Lovers Lane Credit Union, the $8.8-million CU in St. Joseph, Mo. (where there is a famous actual street of the same name).
If a credit union or just credit unions in general is where your heart lies, you have plenty to set yours a pitter-patter. There are or have been CUs known as Heart O’Texas, Heart of Louisiana, Heart of the Lakes , and Heartland CU (there are seven of those). And the heart doesn’t stop beating there. There are also Heartland Area, Heartland CA, Heartland Community, Heartland Employees, Indiana Heartland, Iowa Heartland, Lorain Sacred Heart, Sacred Heart, Sacred Heart Hospital Employees, Sacred Heart of Charleston SC, Sacred Heart of Corpus Christi, Sacred Heart Parish Halletsville (Texas) Sacred Heart Parishioners, Sacred Heart Port Arthur, State Farm Heartland and, in the middle of it all, Heart Center.
Not So Sweet
And yet one thing not so good for the heart is also apparently not beneficial to the long-term viability of a credit union, as the love has been lost at Miss Sweetheart CU (the sexual harassment claims probably didn’t help), Sweetheart CU, Sweetheart Cup, and Sweetheart Products Employees CU, all of which are now as cold as many an old flame.
Nevertheless, for all those feeling the love in credit unions, there are many ways to express the emotions. Consider flowers, as in Flower Hospital Employees Credit Union, Flowers Employees Credit League, Little Flower CU, Little Flower Memphis CU, Shrine of the Little Flower Parish CU, and Sunflower CU (there are two of those, and we assume both always face the sun). Some of those CUs are active, some no longer are, but isn’t that the way love works?
Don’t Wait to Order
Unsure where to order your flowers? Might we suggest The Florist FCU in New Mexico. Unfortunately, it appears credit unions aren’t as fond of sending flowers as others looking to target someone with Cupid’s arrow, as three other one-time florists CUs are now as dead and wilted as last year’s cuttings.
Not a flower person? Prefer something sweeter? You may want to go to Candyland, because in Credit Union Land both the former Boyer Candy Employees CU and King Candy Employees CU have seemingly melted in the sun. But don’t let that lonely heart’s sweet tooth go unrequited. You can still visit Chocolate Bayou Community Credit Union in Louisiana.
Perhaps you prefer “experiences” over the old-fashioned candy and flowers approach. In that case, at least in credit unions you are in luck. Looking for a little romantic dinner for two? Make it a Weekend
And yet is dining out still too pedestrian for you? Really looking to turn Valentine’s Day into a weekend? You’ve come to just the right (credit union ) place.
