REGINA, Saskatchewan–A credit union here has partnered with the local United Way on a new program aimed at keeping more people from falling victim to the cycle of payday loans and simultaneously helping them to build credit.

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad and Tobago–Credit unions in the Caribbean are thriving, according to Dr. Keith Rowely. But the prime minister of Trinidad and Tobago said the success comes with new responsibilities, as well.

GIBSONS, B.C.–Sunshine Coast Credit Union here has joined with two other organizations as part of an initiative to keep people housed during times of acute financial stress by offering short-term, interest free loans and support through advocacy and referral services.
