WASHINGTON— Credit Union Student Choice is reporting that two credit unions have selected it to provide higher education financing solutions.
Selecting the company are Southpoint Financial Credit Union in Sleepy Eye, Minn., and Members Trust of the Southwest in Houston, both of which will offer members education lending solutions for both undergraduate student loans and student loan refinance.
“SouthPoint has been serving local members since 1936, and we have continued to expand our services to meet members’ changing financial needs throughout the years,” said Jay Gostonczik, president and CEO of SouthPoint Financial Credit Union. “The costs of attending college continue to climb, and once families have utilized scholarships, grants, and federal student loans, they often need private funding to fill the gaps. SouthPoint will now be able to provide peace of mind with Student Choice education solutions.”

Student Choice said it enables credit unions of all sizes to make private education loans that are held on their own balance sheet. Since launching in 2008, the CUSO has helped nearly 300 partner credit unions originate $3.2 billion in private education loans to more than 100,000 families.
