SAN DIEGO–Core processor Corelation, philanthropy is a key pillar of its dedication to service, hosted its annual “Corelation Cares – Day of Giving,” continuing the tradition of serving the local community through outreach programs and donations.
During the week of Oct. 12 Corelation’s Day of Giving supported numerous local charities and organizations, including the San Diego Center for Children, HandsOn San Diego, the Monarch School, and six local daycare providers, in addition to a number of employee-selected beneficiaries.
“We are honored to uphold the community-focused spirit of the credit union movement at Corelation by supporting charities that provide assistance for families in need in our local community,” said Corelation President/CEO Theresa Benavidez. “I am incredibly grateful to the entire Corelation team for their generosity and for continuing to believe in our mission.”
With COVID-19 safety protocols in place, members of the Corelation team participated in distanced and remote volunteer opportunities.
A group of volunteers assembled care packages that included hygiene kits to will be donated through the Monarch School to children and families who are experiencing homelessness. Food bags and welcome bags with basic essentials and school supplies will be donated to the San Diego Center for Children to provide to children and teens who are struggling and often at-risk.
A drop-off toy drive collected three full bins of toys for the San Diego Center for Children to further their mission of protecting the joy of childhood.
Employees also participated in fully remote volunteer activities through HandsOn San Diego, including a virtual book drive to donate children’s books on behalf of Words Alive, writing letters to seniors, and recording videos reading books to share with children who may not have access to books at home.
A Virtual Trivia Night brought together members of the Corelation staff for the chance to win donations for a charity of their choosing. Six employee-nominated local daycare providers received care packages with cleaning and disinfecting supplies to assist them in meeting heightened COVID-19 safety protocols.
