MT. PROSPECT, Ill.–Cummins Allison, a provider of coin, currency and check processing technology as well as ATMs, announced its complete line of ATMs have been Windows 10-certified with Jack Henry and Associates. Cummins Allison is the exclusive distributor of GRG ATMs in the U.S to the financial services industry.
"We are pleased to be among the first in the industry to receive the Windows 10 certification, so when our customers choose to move to Windows 10—we are ready," said Frank Janezic, executive vice president, Cummins Allison. "With this certification, our Jack Henry customers can be confident that our ATMs are able to take advantage of the security, and performance gains within the new Windows 10 environment."
Deadline Approaching
In January 2020, support for Windows 7 ends and financial institutions will need to convert to Windows 10, reminded Cummins Allison. The company noted a “key advantage of Windows 10 is its security features for protecting against malware and other forms of cyber-attacks.”
Additionally, value-added software features improve the consumer experience and keep pace with advances in technology, Cummins Allison said.
“Sometimes upgrading an ATM’s operating system can be more costly than buying a new machine,” said Janezic. “Understanding the most cost-effective approach to an operating system upgrade can provide valuable cost-savings when the time comes to make the switch,” said Janezic.
