Famous Chef, Harvard Prof, Taco Bell CEO to Keynote THINK 20

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. – Chef Roy Choi, Harvard Professor Francesca Gino and Taco Bell CEO Mark King have been announced as the latest keynoters for CO-OP’s THINK 20 meeting in May of 2020.

THINK 20, themed “Activate Your Next,” will offer guidance on credit union strategy based on the unique market position and digital maturity of each institution, according to CO-OP.

Francesca Gino

“Differentiation will go to whomever owns the customer relationship, and that has never been more complex,” said Samantha Paxson, chief experience officer with CO-OP Financial Services. “At the same time, as consumers connect, engage and relate to service providers in new empowering ways, the potential for credit unions to play a more critical role in members’ lives has also never been greater. The personal stories, research and business insights of the THINK 20 speakers we are announcing today – as with all of our content – will help credit union leaders evaluate the difficult, transformational choices needed to deepen relationships with members and grow their institutions.”

The New Keynoters

The newest keynoters include:

  • Roy Choi. Choi is a chef, entrepreneur and community activist. His authentic style helped him gain prominence as the creator of the Korean-Mexican taco truck “Kogi.” By providing “food that isn’t fancy,” he became at the same time one of the founders of the gourmet food truck movement. His career and his life provides a case study of how to grow and adapt, and empower the underrepresented, CO-OP said.
  • Francesca Gino. Gino is a professor in the Negotiation, Organization and Markets Unit at the Harvard Business School and author of “Rebel Talent: Why it Pays to Break the Rules in Work and Life.” CO-OP said Gino will provide perspectives on “behavioral approaches to decision-making” that lead to innovation and the courage to make transformative strategic choices.
  • Mark King. King has been CEO of Taco Bell since earlier this year, having previously served as president of Adidas North America from 2014-18, and president, then CEO, of TaylorMade from 1999. CO-OP said King will provide insights about activating change in organizations based on his more than 20 years as a president/CEO of large companies across a range of industries. According to King’s biography, he “believes in creating the right atmosphere to unleash the potential of people to make extraordinary breakthroughs happen.”
