Greater Texas/Aggieland CU Converting to DNA from Fiserv

AUSTIN, Texas Greater Texas|Aggieland Credit Union has launched a conversion of its core account processing system by implementing DNA® from Fiserv .

The project, set to be finished by the end of May 2023, is part of its effort to optimize the member experience and serve members much more efficiently with all of their financial needs, according to Fiserv.

“The new system will allow Greater Texas and its Aggieland subsidiary to provide a higher level of service, improving the overall member experience across all channels and product lines through a 360-degree view of a member’s relationship,” Fiserv said. “Its advanced integration capabilities will draw data from multiple sources, allowing staff to serve members easily in branches, remotely, or online.”

The existing system has been in place since 1989, and Chief Information Officer Kayvee Kondapalli says he expects this new one will last at least two decades, according to Fiserv.

Could Have Gotten By, But…

“We could have gotten by with our current system for a few more years, but strategically, there are so many things we are planning that it wouldn’t let us do,” Kondapalli stated. “With the DNA platform, we can more quickly gain insights, create solutions for members and offer connected in-branch service and virtual experiences. Its open and simple integration capabilities will also allow our team to spend more time serving members rather than accessing multiple systems for member information.”

Fiserv said the new platform will eliminate posting delays on members’ account transactions, making them instantaneous rather than requiring a delay until the next day. It will also allow the credit union to easily create its own custom applications to better serve members.

Not only does the new platform encompass all of Greater Texas’ and Aggieland’s account processing, but it also has to integrate with the systems of more than 40 of the credit union’s key vendors and service providers, according to Kondapalli.

Keeping Pace With Advances

“With their move to a new core platform, Greater Texas and Aggieland Credit Union is demonstrating their commitment to empowering their staff and serving their members through technology,” said Chris Van Der Stad, general manager of DNA at Fiserv. “The unique capabilities of DNA backed by the expertise of Fiserv will enable the credit union to keep pace with digital advances and bring new services online quickly.”

Added Greater Texas/Aggieland CU President and CEO Howard N. Baiker, “Importantly for members, this new platform will be member-centric and not account-centric. That means employees using the system will be able to view a member’s total relationship with us at once, allowing us to help that member more effectively and efficiently.”
