PURCHASE, N.Y.—For the second year in a row, Mastercard has been recognized as a 2017 World’s Most Ethical Company by the Ethisphere Institute, a global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices.
“Getting recognized by any industry for your work is a great honor, but it’s an especially proud moment when the company for which you work for is deemed as one of the ‘World’s Most Ethical,’” Mastercard stated in a release.
“Mastercard places a premium on trust and we uphold this as one of our driving Values. Our Code of Conduct states: “At Mastercard, our success is directly tied to our reputation and the trust people place in our brand… Having a strong sense of right and wrong is the foundation of that trust. It goes to the very core of who we are, what we do and how we do it,” the company continued
Mastercard said the World’s Most Ethical Companies honor is awarded for three reasons:
- Promoting ethical business standards and practices internally
- Enabling managers and employees to make good choices
- Shaping future industry standards through best practices
CUNA Mutual was also recently named a World’s Most Ethical Company.
