Oakley Named New CMO By TMG Financial Services

DES MOINES, Iowa –TMG Financial Services (TMGFS) has named Matt Oakley as chief marketing officer (CMO).

A seasoned marketing veteran with more than 20 years of experience, Oakley joins TMGFS from Kreg Tool, where he served most recently as director of marketing and customer experience. There, Oakley executed a series of strategies to ensure the voice of the consumer was heard by all stakeholders from sales to finance. In collaboration with the sales team, he was responsible for the company’s expansion into international markets through business-to-business marketing and new packaging strategies. He also led a series of go-to-market, new product launch and product line review events.

As TMGFS CMO, Oakley will oversee the development and implementation of consumer and commercial marketing programs, as well as financial partner marketing and training programs. He will be called on to support product development, including ideation, research and strategy based on partner and cardmember feedback.

According to the company, Oakley will lead the agent-issuer’s seven-person marketing team and be challenged to continue the company’s growth momentum. From 2013 to 2014, the agent-issuer grew its credit card portfolio balances by more than 15 percent; accounts by nearly 12 percent – all amid a 100-percent contract renewal with its financial partners.

Prior to his position with Kreg Tool, Oakley was a vice president and consumer focus team director for Marsh. In this position, he managed marketing teams responsible for more than 750 multi-channel marketing projects each year. Oakley also has a strong background in training, having held a series of training and teaching positions over the course of his career. He holds a bachelor’s degree elementary education from Wayne State College and a master’s degree in education from Webster University.
