TALLAHASSEE, Fla.–The Pod Advertising, which works with numerous credit unions, has announced the grand opening of its newest division, CoLab @ The Pod. CoLab @ The Pod is an innovative co-working space designed to empower the creative community in Tallahassee. The space is located adjacent to the Pod’s own offices and is designed to give freelancers and entrepreneurs a home base away from home, according to Samantha Strickland, CEO of The Pod Advertising.
“As a self-employed professional who started off working from home, it’s easy to feel isolated. Most creatives enjoy a collaborative process, even if they want to work for themselves,” Strickland explained. “CoLab provides everything an individual will need to succeed as a creative entrepreneur without the overhead associated with setting up a stand-alone shop.”
CoLab @ The Pod will feature a large co-working area with modular furniture, private offices and designated desks, allowing interested individuals to choose the membership level that best suits their needs. Memberships range from $149/month for part-time members to $408/month for a designated desk in a CoSuite. CoLab will also feature a multi-utility space for organizations to use for training sessions and special events.
In addition to 24/7 facility access and guaranteed hours in CoLab’s large, fully equipped conference room, membership perks also include guest passes, personal lockers, color copies, headphone usage, package holding and free coffee at the coffee bar presented by Catalina Café. CoLab is opening with the support of key partners to enhance the member experience such as Catalina Cafe and the Bean Team, which will provide accounting and bookkeeping services to members at special rates.
To further contribute to the local community and economic development, all CoLab members will have access to the PodJobs Board, one of the most exciting aspects of the new space. The Pod will facilitate freelancing opportunities through an exclusive job board through which members may provide services to non-profit organizations, associations and small businesses for projects with budgets up to $1,000. CoLab will also be the home to the Victor Over Cancer Foundation, a non-profit foundation with a focus on melanoma awareness and prevention.
