SPE FCU Converts To CU*Base Solution; E-Statement Contest Winner Named

STATE COLLEGE, Penn.–SPE Federal Credit Union has converted to the CU*Base cored data processing system from Grand Rapids, Mich.-based CU*Answers. The 10,600-member CU becomes the sixth and final credit union participant of CUSO rkGoBig to convert to the CU*BASE platform, according to the CUSO.

rkGoBig is comprised of six credit unions in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Washington, D.C. with a common goal of reducing expenses through synchronized operations while maintaining the unique identity of each CU. The CUSO currently serves over 65,000 members and $560 million in combined assets.rkGoBig was recently profiled in CUToday.info here.

“As part of our global back office convergence, one of our first steps was to identify a common core platform,” said Peter Barnard, rkGoBig CEO. “CU*Answers just gets it. CU*Answers’ shared credit union-owned platforms, intelligently and inexpensively deployed, allow rkGoBig to make real the vision of a new model.”

Separately, CU*Answers has announced the winner of its 2016 e‑statement contest. As part of CU*OverDrive, the CUSO’s low maintenance marketing package for credit unions, contests are run quarterly for a two month period as a way of gathering member email addresses or increasing enrollment in credit union services such as e-statements, bill pay, and debit cards. Contest enrollment is free to all CU*Answers credit unions with an optional full collateral print package for an additional charge. The contest prize is supplied by CU*Answers, however, credit unions may purchase an exclusive prize to ensure their credit union has a winner.

A member of AAA Federal Credit Union in South Bend, Ind. was the chosen contest winner of an Apple iPad Air 2 in the most recent contest, selected by a random drawing of entries from 68 participating credit unions. The contest resulted in 14,011 e-statement enrollments during the contest period, an increase of 74.48% when compared to new enrollments during the two months prior to the contest, the CUSO reported.
