ONTARIO, Calif.–Credit unions are officially one day away from a webcast to be hosted by CU Direct as part of its State of the Auto Lending Market series.
The webcast will shed light on what to expect from the auto lending marketplace in the early stages of 2017, in addition to other insights.
The webinar is scheduled for Thursday, March 9, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
“This webcast will provide in-depth analysis of credit union performance in the auto lending marketplace, how credit unions faired vs. major lending institutions within the auto lending arena, and will highlight the latest trends and issues faced by the automotive industry,” the company explained.
Led by Michael Cochrum, a frequent source in CUToday.info due to his expertise in the field, topics in the webinar will include:
- Auto lending trends, including credit union auto lending market share
- Peer analysis: credit unions vs. banks, captives and other financial institutions
- Auto manufacturer and U.S. vehicle sales summary
- Portfolio risk alerts

Credit unions became the number-two auto lender type in 2016, capturing 21.9% of market share, and CU Direct credit unions are the number-one auto lender in 13 states, but the company has said competition and the market continue to evolve in 2017.
