LAS VEGAS–Another “Underground Collision” is scheduled for late October here, and this time with a lot of “WOW” and a little bit of the mob.
The Underground Collision conferences are hosted by Mitchell Stankovic and seek to focus on diverse opinions and provocative topics in credit unions, and ways the cooperative community can collaborate to resolve those issues. The upcoming event in Las Vegas, set for Oct. 26, will coincide with the Money2 2020 conference in the same city. The meeting is being referred to by organizers as the first #CUMoney Global Underground!
Attendance at the Money 2020 event is not required to attend.
“Not going to Money 20/20? Fly in for the day. We recognize this is not a typical credit union forum, but we want to make a huge statement to change all of that! Credit unions are here, our mission is clear – members mean more than money,” said Mitchell Stankovic.
The theme for the October Collision is the Complexity of #CUMoney, where the debate topics will include fintech, diversity, immigration, cooperation, thinking big, cash for cannabis, and deeper into fintech, diversity, immigration, cooperation, thinking big, cash for cannabis and making a difference through the power of collaboration vs the for-profit sector.
Need to Be a ‘Force’
“Credit unions need to be a force for cooperative principles anywhere the future is being discussed. If you are attending, come a day early and meet a new network of thought leaders dedicated to the credit union principles – and we mean more than money,” Mitchell Stankovic said. “Be one of the early adopters who understand that times are changing quickly.”
The Underground Collision will be held at the headquarters of Zappos in its WOW theater from 1-5 p.m. PT. Afterward, attendees will walk across the street for an event at the Mob Museum for the “Underground Speakeasy” with a secret password and whiskey in a tumbler.
