NASHVILLE, Tenn.–Volunteer Corporate Credit Union (VolCorp) has announced the promotion of three employees.
Mr. Phillip Cochran has been promoted to Senior Vice President/ Chief Investment Officer (CIO).
In addition to his current CIO responsibilities managing VolCorp’s investment portfolio, finding investment solutions for members, and directing VolCorp’s Investments staff and initiatives, Cochran now joins the senior management team in developing strategic direction and will be responsible for managing the corporate’s daily liquidity position. Jeff Merry, VolCorp’s newly named CEO as of January 1st, 2016, says “Phillip’s impressive acumen for capital markets and his passion for doing what is best for our members made him a great CIO, but now it is all of that combined with his ability to think outside the box and challenge the status quo that makes him a great addition to the Senior Management team. He brings a lot to the table and was an obvious choice to step into this role.”
Promoted to Senior Vice President/Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is Ms. Susan Stack. In her new role, Susan’s responsibilities will include supervision of Risk Management, Treasury Operations, and Accounting. She will also be responsible for managing VolCorp’s earnings and operational efficiencies across the board.
Merry says of Stack, “her extensive accounting background, automation capabilities, and attention to detail are only part of what made her a clear choice to fill the CFO role. Susan has served as our Controller for 10 years and understands all of the intricacies of how our daily activities affect the general ledger. Now she brings that and more as she guides the bigger picture in overseeing the financial affairs of the organization.”
Casondra (Cassie) Fivecoat has been promoted to Director, Marketing and Product Development.
In her new position, Cassie will be responsible for development and implementation of strategic marketing as well as recommending new products and services to VolCorp’s senior management. Merry comments that “Cassie has helped guide members through strategic planning sessions for 7 years, adding tremendous value to each organization. Now VolCorp will further tap into those skills as we benefit from that experience as well as her drive, creativity, and member/public relations skills in this new position. It provides great continuity for VolCorp to be able to promote three very deserving individuals as these into expanded roles as we step into the next chapter and it is a great opportunity for them in the development of their careers.”
