WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn.–360 Federal Credit Union announced it has exceeded its goal and completed the Community Savings Challenge. In total the credit union said it saved members $443,275 in loan interest through refinancing loans from other financial institutions in just two months.
The Community Savings Challenge strived to save the community money, all while benefiting local charities. Three local charities received $6,000 once the $350,000 goal had been reached. The top-voted charity, Junior Achievement, received $3,000. Second place, Foodshare, received $2,000, and CCAR received $1,000.
"We are very excited about reaching our goal. We were able to save $100,000 more than last year, plus exceed our goal by almost $100,000 and in a shorter period of time. We are proud of our members that benefited from the Community Savings Challenge,” said Rosey Wemmell, Lending Manager.
