DENVER–Denver Community Credit Union collected 2,340 pounds of food for its 2017 #DenverCommunityGives Food Drive, which benefited two local food banks.
Denver Community staff single-handedly donated 1,418 pounds of nutritious food, which amounts to an average of 15.5 pounds per employee. Credit union members and partners generously contributed an additional 940 pounds of food for the #DenverCommunityGives Food Drive.
The majority of the food collected (2,235 lbs.) was donated to Volunteers of America Colorado's City Harvest Food Bank. The remainder of the food, which was collected at Denver Community's branch in Littleton, Colorado, was donated to TLC Meals on Wheels, a Littleton-based nonprofit.
The #DenverCommunityGives Food Drive aligns with Denver Community Credit Union's vision of "Advancing financial opportunity" by making a difference in the lives of our community members. The #DenverCommunityGives Program encourages staff to volunteer and give back to the communities they serve year-round.
