GLENDORA, Calif.– America’s Christian Credit Union held its 59th Annual Meeting here and commemorated the most successful year for the organization to date. In addition, the meeting also included a special tribute to President/CEO Mendell L. Thompson for his 40 years of service to ACCU.
The day’s celebration started off with an all-staff luncheon on the back patio at ACCU headquarters, followed by a schedule filled with the monthly meeting of the board of directors. Later, members and employees got into the spirit of the day by posing for pictures in a special photo booth. This was followed by the annual meeting.
The annual meeting featured a special dedication by ACCU to President/CEO Mendell L. Thompson in honor of his 40 years of service to the credit union. Mr. Thompson was presented a commemorative plaque and a custom designed bobblehead figurine in his likeness. “ACCU has come a long way, from being a small, local credit union, to one that faithfully serves a national membership,” said Thompson. “It is an expanded responsibility of stewardship, but I look forward to watching the credit union grow for many more years as it continues to experience God’s abundant blessings.”
As is its tradition, ACCU used the platform of its annual meeting to announce its Employee of the Year award for the past year. The new Employee of the Year honoree is Ruby Broadhurst, Loan Servicing Manager. Mr. Thompson presented Broadhurst with a trophy, plaque, certificate, and congratulatory flowers. Broadhurst is being commended for her work ethic and expertise in the fields of loan servicing and computer system support. She merited this recognition despite having been with the credit union for just under one year.
At right, Mendell L. Thompson.
