GLENDORA, Calif. — Puppies and kittens took center stage as America’s Christian Credit Union (ACCU) hosted its second annual “Pause for Paws” pet adoption event here. During this free event at ACCU’s HQ, hundreds of guests flooded the parking lot in search of the perfect four-legged valentine. Within the span of a few hours, four kittens and eight dogs found their forever homes.
The credit union’s parking lot was filled with representatives from pet shelters, animal rescues, and other pet related services and vendors including: Alosta Animal Hospital, The Crazy Dog Ladies, American Cancer Society’s “Bark for Life,” Stacy’s Critter Sitters, Rescue Works, Hand in Paw, Petography Pro, All Paws Rescue, Highlander Pet Center, Lucky Cat Rescue, Upland Animal Shelter, Inland Valley Humane Society, and Nana’s Original Pet Clothing. Each person who adopted an animal on Saturday received from ACCU a complimentary gift bag filled with goodies for their new pet along with a free photo with their pet taken by Petography Pro.
This event is quickly becoming a community tradition, and offering a platform for these rescued and sheltered animals. Karen Davis, Mayor of Glendora explained, “ACCU has provided an amazing opportunity for these organizations to connect with our community and find the loving homes these animals deserve.”
President/CEO Mendell Thompson added, “It is an honor and privilege to host this event that not only changes these pets’ lives but also brings so much happiness to their new families. What a joy to work with these passionate pet vendors and to see the entire community coming together to support such a great cause.”
