NEW ORLEANS—Some 143 employees of ASI FCU and ASII (A Shared Initiative, Inc.) volunteers their time at 10 local non-profit organizations throughout southeastern Louisiana on Columbus Day, when staffers used the off-day to give of the time.
The effort also coincided with International Credit Union Week. “As CDFIs, a community development financial cooperative and sister nonprofit, ASI-ASII have a Vision of eliminating poverty in the communities we serve,” said Mignhon Tourne’, ASI-ASII’s CEO. “We do this by offering a full range of affordable banking products and supportive services to our member-owners to improve their lives and shape and improve our community. This year, the employees spent over 572 hours between North Shore Habitat for Humanity ReStore, Covington Food Bank, Magnolia School, Common Ground Relief, Ozanam Inn, New Orleans Women’s Shelter, Bayou Area Habitat for Humanity, ARC of New Orleans, Salvation Army and The Second Harvest Food Bank.
