DUNEDIN, Fla. – Achieva Credit Union has awarded $15,000 in scholarships to 12 college-bound graduates. In addition to Achieva’s annual program of 10 $1,000 scholarships, the credit union also awarded two $2,500 Hugh “Max” Kriever Memorial Scholarships to student-athletes who will be majoring in Education in memory of the former Chairman of the Board for Achieva.
“Our annual recognition of accomplished students and awarding Achieva scholarships is one of our most important and gratifying programs,” said Gary Regoli, CEO of Achieva Credit Union.
Representatives of Achieva’s Board of Directors and Leadership Team spoke to the graduates at a special luncheon in honor of all scholarship recipients, encouraging them to maintain a strong work ethic and pursue their dreams with integrity while focusing on having a positive impact on their community.
Applicants were evaluated based on their academic accomplishments, extracurricular activities, community involvement and goals for the future. Their answers to an essay question regarding effective money management and financial literacy were also taken into consideration.
