BROWNSTOWN, Mich.–— Advantage One Credit Union is celebrating 70 years of serving the Downriver community and its members.
Federally chartered in 1952 as McLouth Employees FederalCredit Union, founding members “realized that they could help each other achieve more together than they could on their own.The mentality of people helping people, has remained a corephilosophy all these years later,” the credit union said.
“Our longevity and continued success are a credit to a team of hard-working, dedicated employees and volunteers and our members who remain supportive and loyal to Advantage One,” said CEO Chris Corkery. “We appreciate that our members have multiple choices when it comes to financial services, and we honor our trust and commitment to them and to the communities we serve in everything we do. We are seventy years young and stronger than ever- with many exciting enhancements planned this year. If someone has not yet given us a chance, I encourage them to give us a closer look.”
To celebrate, Advantage One will be having giveaways, promotions, and special lobby events for members throughout the year. It will also be performing 70 Random Acts of Kindness throughout the community, with the first being thank you bags for the Brownstown Twp. Police Department (through WoodhavenKiwanis) and goody bags for the Brownstown Daddy/DaughterDance.
“The credit union has come a long way in the years I have beenassociated with it and while many things have changed, one thing has remained consistent, and that is the strong commitment to its members, employees and the downriver community,” said Chairman Richard Lindemann. “With pride, this is something the credit union will strive to focus on for years to come.”
