BROWNSTOWN, Mich.– For over 10 years, Advantage One Credit Union has participated in The Holiday Assistance Program, organized by The Information Center, which provides hundreds of local families and individuals in need, with presents and financial assistance to ensure a happy holiday season.
This year, Advantage One adopted eight families with a total of 31 people. Donations were raised throughout the year by employees who chose to wear jeans on casual Fridays. These efforts allowed for over $6,000 to be spent on the families. Employees shopped on their own time and had a wrapping party after hours, making sure each family member would have presents under their tree and no one would go hungry during Christmas.
“Advantage One has always enjoyed being part of The Holiday Assistance Program,” said Chris Corkery, CEO of Advantage One Credit Union. “It is probably the most successful fundraising program we support and is primarily funded by employee donations. Our employees truly put their hearts into shopping for these families and trying to make sure all the items on the list are purchased. To all of us, it is our way to bring some hope to the people in our community who need it most.”
