After Fire, PSECU Helps Fund Rebuilding

HARRISBURG, Penn.–PSECU has presented Broad Street Market Executive Director Tanis Monroy with a check for $10,000 to assist with rebuilding the historic market’s brick building following a devastating fire. Recognizing the significant impact the market has had on the Harrisburg community, and the commonwealth’s history at large, the credit union said it felt compelled to support the market’s recovery efforts.

PSECU was established in Harrisburg in 1934 by 22 state employees who wanted to create better lives for their families. PSECU practices the credit union philosophy of “people helping people” and sees this donation as a vital part of their community outreach strategy.

The Broad Street Market has been a community hub for more than 150 years – many of PSECU’s members and employees, past and present, have supported the market, be it during their lunch breaks from their state offices, or as residents of the greater Harrisburg community.
