WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.--Allegacy Federal Credit Union has named Borgia Walker, a long-time Reynolds American, Inc. executive, chair its Board of Directors.
Walker joined the Allegacy board in 2011, after serving on the board’s supervisory committee since 2007 and as supervisory chair since 2011. As board chair, she now serves on the executive and compensation committees.
Walker is the Vice President of HR at Reynolds American, Inc. Her previous roles at Reynolds have included a number of leadership roles in HR, including the areas of Talent, Org. Effectiveness, Diversity & Inclusion, Shared Services, Rewards and HR Business Partner supporting a number of functions. She has also held prior leadership roles in Internal Audit, Regulatory Governance, and Finance.
Her community affiliations include serving on the Board of the YWCA and as a member of the Women's Leadership Council of the United Way. She is a Certified Public Accountant, certified in the State of Kentucky, and holds a Master of Business Administration from Webster University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accountancy from the University of Louisville.
Walker succeeds Ann Johnston, who retired from the chairperson role after serving 20 years in the position. Johnston remains a board member, with a total tenure of 30+ years on the board.
