ARLINGTON, Texas–Allied Federal Credit Union has donated $300 to The Miracle League DFW.
The organization provides children and young adults the opportunity to play baseball regardless of their abilities. The Miracle League removes barriers that prevent children with mental and physical disabilities from experiencing team sports. Games are played on a custom-designed turf that accommodates wheelchairs and other devices and helps prevent injuries, the credit union said.
“Everyone deserves the chance to feel included, and that was our attraction to Miracle League DFW,” said Sarah Ramos, AVP of experience at AlliedFCU. “Providing children and young adults an environment where they can play and experience what it’s like to be part of a team has great emotional and physical benefits for them. It’s even more meaningful when you consider we’re in the heart of Rangers Nation – home of the 2023 World Series champions. Our donation gives more children the chance to experience America’s pastime, regardless of their abilities.”
The credit union said it supported The Miracle League DFW as part of its Casual for a Cause program, an initiative allowing employees to dress casual at work in exchange for donations. An employee committee chooses different causes to receive funds each month.
