Altura Hosts 'Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day'

RIVERSIDE, Calif.– Dozens of children shadowed their parents at work as part of Altura Credit Union’s “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day.” The day gives kids a glimpse into how their parents spend their day at work.

The day began with a welcome breakfast. For two hours for the youngsters to shadow their parent, followed by an outdoor lunch, a financial literacy program (depending on the child’s age) and a kid-friendly movie. Children aged 2 to 17 could participate in the day’s events.

The two-hour parent-child lunch break provided a celebratory atmosphere. The Feeding Frenzy Food Truck served a carnival-inspired lunch of chicken strips, corn dogs, fries and mozzarella sticks. Sweets included five kinds of funnel cakes, deep-fried Twinkies and Snickers, and snow cones from Kona Ice. Carnival games, Petals the Clown and a photo booth rounded out the activities in theparking area outside Altura.

Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day marked its 23th anniversary this year.
