MORENO VALLEY, Calif.– Altura Credit Union has teamed up with the Moreno Valley Police Department to help spread joy this season by donating $500 to “Operation Holiday Cheer.”
The police department’s Operation Holiday Cheer offers holiday-themed programs to brighten the lives of pre-selected children and families in Moreno Valley who are facing economic hardship. In addition to financial support, the program relies on community donations of toys, candy and gift wrap, as well as volunteers to wrap presents and serve food at a holiday party for about 45 families.
In addition to the party, Santa and his officer helpers parade through Moreno Valley neighborhoods delivering a fun holiday atmosphere with candy, stuffed toys and smiles. Eligible children are also paired with a Moreno Valley Police Officer for a shopping trip where the child can choose their own presents up to a $100 value.
