COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.–AventaCares, an initiative of Aventa Credit Union, walked for life in the Colorado Springs Heart Walk. Benefitting the American Heart Association, the walk raises funds to support research that saves lives from heart disease and stroke – two of the country’s top killers.
A team of 12 walkers made up of Aventa Credit Unionassociates and their family members represented AventaCares. They raised over $2,000 for the American Heart Association by selling AHA hearts in the branches, holding dress down “Red Mondays” and auctioning off a prize basket in addition to support through the walk itself.
This is the seventh year Aventa Credit Union associates have participated in the Heart Walk.
“We wholeheartedly support the American Heart Association’s mission to help prevent heart disease and stroke. Every year, our employees request to participate in this event and we are proud to have raised $2,000 this year for the American Heart Association,” said Deb Brown, AventaCares committee member and Heart Walk team captain.
