CAP COM FCU Joins With Verizon in 'Reuniting Hearts'

ALBANY, N.Y.–CAP COM Federal Credit Union, in partnership with Verizon, is “reuniting hearts” with its Reunite Flight program. The program was founded to help active-duty military personnel travel to be with their families when it otherwise might not be financially possible. CAP COM said the program is a way for it to recognize and thank service members for all they do to protect and serve our country.

This is the program’s third year. With support from Verizon, CAP COM is awarding round-trip airfare to six people, so they can travel home to see their loved ones.

“I am grateful to have the opportunity to travel home this holiday season on behalf of CAP COM and their reunite flight program,” said one of this year’s recipients, James T. of Bremerton, Wash., who serves as a Navy diver. “My family and I are very excited and look forward to any chance we have to connect. Thanks for making this possible for service members and their families.”

“The Reunite Flights program is a wonderful way to thank our service personnel with the gift of family,” said Amanda Goyer, CAP COM Federal Credit Union’s community relations manager. “CAP COM is built on the foundation of people helping people and strives to nurture the community in support of families.”

Members of CAP COM were able to nominate active-duty members of the military for a Reunite Flight. A committee consisting of representatives with military backgrounds chose the recipients from those nominated. Recipients will receive free, round-trip airfare to visit their family over the next year.
