CONCORD, N.H.--Despite the raw temperatures that prevailed, NH Federal Credit Union dished out 437 ice cream sundaes and two ALS Ice Bucket Challenges at Beech Hill Farm in Hopkinton, during their annual Fall Festival.
CEO John R. Young spent three hours scooping ice cream, and also took part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, with several ice cold gallons of water and ice were poured over him at the hands of Make-A-Wish NH Ambassador, Isabella, alongside Rapunzel and Princess Elsa. Mr. Young then challenged two more people, Polly Saltmarsh of NH Federal, and Wayne Penn, a long-time volunteer for Make-A-Wish NH. Despite the frigid temperatures, all those challenged welcomed the deluge, raising additional funds for ALS while doing so. While the event itself is free, NH Federal Credit Union does accept donations to benefit Make-A-Wish NH from event attendees. Several families whose children have been wish recipients enjoyed the festivities as well as NH Federal Credit Union members and the general public. On top of the free sundaes, the Credit Union offered activities like free corn maze passes for the children, face-painting, and live music.
