CUNA CEO Visits America's CU Museum

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Jim Nussle, President and CEO of CUNA, toured America’s Credit Union Museum, seeing the office of the very first credit union in the United States and exhibits showcasing the ways that credit unions have improved the lives of Americans over the last 100 years.

Nussle also viewed the building that will house the future CUNA Research Center, a building  next to America’s Credit Union Museum that will accommodate a virtual “library” to allow credit unions, consumers, the media, lawmakers, regulators, and others the ability to explore the unique history of credit unions while giving credit unions the opportunity to share their history virtually through the Museum.

In February, CUNA pledged $1 million to the America’s Credit Union Museum “Legacy” Capital Campaign to help ensure the rich history of the credit union system is preserved for future generations. The three-year Legacy Capital Campaign has a goal of raising $3.3 million to create the new research center, add additional exhibit space, and provide renovations to the existing Museum building.

”It was an honor to see America’s Credit Union Museum first hand and experience storied history of the credit union movement,” said Nussle in a statement. “I’m proud of the work credit unions have been doing for Americans for 100 years and look forward to what the next century holds.”
