BLOUNTSTOWN, Fla. - Calhoun Liberty Credit Union (CLCU) awarded scholarships to 47 high school seniors from Altha High School, Liberty County High School, and Blountstown High School.
The initiative is part of CLCU's ongoing commitment to fostering educational opportunities and empowering the youth in our community.
Since the inception of its scholarship program in 2017, CLCU has awarded morethan $125,000 in scholarships to deserving students. This year, each of the 47 graduating students received a $750 scholarship, which can be used to pursue a variety of post-secondary educational paths.
“The CLCU Scholarship Program reflects our unwavering dedication to supporting the education and development of the next generation,” said CEO Thomas Flowers. “We are proud to invest in the futures of these young adults, helping them achieve their academic and professional goals. Our commitment goes beyond financial support; we aim to empower our youth with the knowledge and resources they need to succeed.”
In addition to its scholarship program, CLCU said it is deeply invested in providing financial literacy to our community.
“Our annual Reality Fair event is a testament to this commitment. Each year, we invite students from Altha High School, Liberty County High School, and Blountstown High School to participate in an immersive experience where they learn to budget, plan, and make real-world financial decisions,” the credit union said. “This hands-on approach ensures that students are not only prepared academically but are also equipped with essential life skills.”
