DENVER--The Center for Credit Union Leadership, a division of the Mountain West Credit Union Foundation, has announced three more executive leadership scholars for 2015.
Gena Carroll, Vice President of Cheyenne Operations for Meridian Trust Federal Credit Union in Cheyenne, Wyo.; Brian Kayton, Service Area Manager at Ent Federal Credit Union in Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Justin Wolfe, Vice President of Retail Banking at Canyon State Credit Union in Phoenix have all received scholarships for comprehensive credit union leadership training programs.
These scholars join three others chosen earlier this year: Matt Ballou of WyHy Federal Credit Union in Cheyenne Wyo.; Victoria Gomez of Landings Credit Union in Tempe, Ariz.,; and Adele Smith of Premier Members Credit Union in Boulder Colo.
“These recipients exemplify the best and the brightest new leaders from our credit union community in all three states,” said Dr. Dan Santangelo, Executive Director of the Mountain West Credit Union Foundation. “Our investment in their training, and the future leadership of the credit union industry will ensure a bright tomorrow.” The Foundation supports credit unions in the states of Arizona, Colorado and Wyoming, which are served by the Mountain West Credit Union Association.
Once they have completed the Mountain West Credit Union Association’s Leadership Institute, Western CUNA Management School, and the Development Educators Program; scholars, working with a credit union mentor, will engage in problem solving and project management using an action learning hands-on process in an actual credit union environment. Upon completion of the comprehensive training program, executive leadership scholars will be ready to serve as credit union leaders. The Foundation provides approximately $20,000 per recipient in funding through the scholarships.
